ings. They camp together and support each other when there are problems. Each Local Chapter has its distinct vest, in their Chapter colors, patches, etc. to identify that Chapter. The more who are involved, the more things you can do. Many Chapters support local charities; many Chapters in the state have supported The Mississippi Burn Center located in Greenville, Mississippi.
Why should you attend a Samboree? At the Samboree, you will find and meet
people from all over the United States, as well as other countries. You will make many friends who you will run into from time to time at other functions. You can play games, both indoor and outdoor; do crafts; attend seminars; enjoy good entertainment; and many other special activities. You receive a patch to go on your Chapter vest for attending each Samboree. .
Who can attend a Samboree? Any member of the (International) Good Sam Club is authorized to attend a Samboree. Membership in a local Good Sam Chapter is not a prerequisite, however, joining a local Chapter is encouraged.
What are the patches associated with a Samboree? There are two special patches you can be awarded by attending not only Mississippi Samborees, but also Samborees in other states. One of these is the Century Patch for which you must attend 10 State Samborees. At least three(3) of the Samborees have to be in Region VI, which is composed of Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, S. Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia , and Maryland. You will be given a form to have signed at each Samboree you attend, and after acquiring 10 signatures you may purchase a Century Patch and have it presented to you by the State Director. This presentation must be done at a Region VI State Samboree. As you continue to attend Samborees and get 10 more signatures, you will qualify for a Star to go around your basic patch.
The other patch is the Region VI Samboree Patch, for which you qualify after attending a Samboree in each of the Region VI 's 10 States. You get your form signed in each state and qualify at the 6th state. The procedure is the same after this as for the Century Patch.
