Sent: Monday, November 10, 2008 3:58 PM Subject: Update about Gary Crager Gary found out Thursday what may be wrong with him, as far as walking, and losing feeling in his feet, arms, etc.
The doctor said he had a couple disks pinching his spinal cord in his neck. The color was draining from the spinal cord in that area, and the disks needed to come out now. The spinal cord was in "Stroke Mode." He went into the hospital Friday, yesterday morning, and had the two disks removed and plastic spacers put in, and a metal plate to hold it all together. The doctor said it was much worse than he thought once he got in. The job was done, and they let Gary come home this morning.
He is doing OK. He said he can walk, kind of, with a walker. He has feeling in both hands and feet. They don't know how much better he will be, but should not be any worse.
He still has one disk that has to be removed, a little farther down in his neck, but that won't happen until this surgery has healed.
He wanted everyone to know what has been up, and keep him in your prayers.
